The day is coming, no not a day for sweets, but a day for delicious fabrics in 2.5" strips. Better known as a Jelly Roll, trademarked by Moda Fabrics, this name has become synonymous with any set of 2.5" strips rolled up together typically from the same collection or in beautiful coordinating colors. Often including 42 strips it's enough fabric to make a lap quilt on its own or can be paired with coordinating yardage to make up to a king quilt. Often I find that when customers pop into the store they don't now what to do with a Jelly Roll, they see it as scrap with it's narrow width, but these 40/42" long strips hold a lot of potential! I've compiled links to a few of my favorite patterns below, these are all freebies, so you can spend on beautiful fabric and make something beautiful!
